Predictions 01-03.03.2023

Arsenal vs Everton | Premier League (01.03.2023, 20:45)

On Wednesday evening, Arsenal will face Everton at EMIRESATES on the seventh day of the Premier League and try to extend their lead at the top of the rankings. In the event of success, Mikel Arte’s boys would go to +5 on Manchester City and could be more peaceful in view of the next games. The Gunners have had stops in recent weeks, but they recovered 6 points against Aston Villa and Leicester. At home, however, the Londoners must return to success because they have collected only one point in the last two meetings in front of their fans.

Everton, on the other hand, is still having a hard time, and if the championship season ended today, they would be sent down to the Championship. However, Taffees have all the chances of saving themselves because the ranking in the rear is very open, as long as they find a way to offer a less fluctuating performance. The problems of this team are mainly away, as shown by the numbers: 7 defeats and 2 draws in the last nine official races outside the home, among all competitions.

Form Guide

Arsenal LLDLWW

Arsenal will hope to repeat their 0-1 Premier League victory over Leicester City.

Arsenal controlled 66% of the ball and had 10 shots (2 on goal) in that contest. There were a total of 1 shots on goal for Leicester City, but none of them were on target.

Arsenal has failed to score in far too many of its recent encounters. Arsenal’s poor defensive performance, which has seen them allow goals in 5 of their last 6 matches, is cause for worry. They have conceded 8 goals in those games.

Arsenal enters this encounter with a six-game home winning streak.

Everton LLWLWL

Everton will want to get back on track after losing to Aston Villa in their last Premier League match.

Everton had 47% of the control and 15 shots, including 15 on goal, in that game. In total, Aston Villa had 9 shots on goal, with 5 of them finding the back of the net.

Over the past few games featuring Everton, it has become clear that a clean sheet has been achieved by at least one team. Looking at their last 6 events, we can see that it has happened 5 times. Eight goals have been tallied in these matchups, with Everton contributing three..

Arsenal vs Everton Predicted XI

Arsenal Predicted XI: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Trossard.

Everton Predicted XI: Pickford; Coleman, Tarkowski, Coady, Mykolenko; Doucoure, Gueye, Onana; Iwobi, Gray, McNeil.

Prediction

We think Arsenal has what it takes to keep control of the game for long periods and take advantage of some of the chances they create.

On the other hand, Everton may have trouble finding the back of the net themselves, though we expect them to score at least once.

We predict a 3-1 final tally in favor of Arsenal.

Liverpool vs Wolves | Premier League (01/03/2023 21:00)

Liverpool and Wolves return to face each other, this time in Anfield, less than a month after the very heavy 3-0 defeat the Reds suffered at Molineux. However, to look at the season of Klopp’s team, you cannot even archive the debacle as so sensational, since there have been other Liverpool defeats with many goals taken (the 2-5 with Real Madrid, the 3-0 with Brighton, the 3-1 with Brentford). Liverpool seems to have found its way in recent games, at least in the league, but the collapse in the Champions League will stay in people’s minds. So, Salah and his teammates won’t have an easy time with the match, even though they are expected to have a reaction and want to get back at their opponents.

From their perspective, Wolverhampton is back from the 1-1 draw with Fulham, where they showed an excellent game on a difficult field, certainly collecting less than they would have deserved. There have been a number of well-planned actions with a lot of skill and knowledge of the game that led to Sarabia’s advantage, which wasn’t just for Solomon’s big goal. Despite the detachment in the standings (albeit with a Liverpool clearly not in its best vintage), there are twelve points that the Gialloneri can try, in a stadium where they have already played and marked (the 2-2 of the FA Cup followed by 0 from 0-1 for Liverpool in the replay). Certainly it will also be a matter of stimulus and objectives: for the Wolves, there is clearly that of salvation; for Liverpool, there should be that of fifth or fourth place; but, in this very discontinuous season for the Reds, the certainties are: therefore, it will be a race to look at, openly, without very clear relationships of force, in perfect Premier League style.

Form Guide

Liverpool LLWWLD

Liverpool comes into this game after playing Crystal Palace to a scoreless draw in the Premier League.

Liverpool controlled 64% of the ball and had 12 shots, with 4 on target. There were 6 attempts on goal for Crystal Palace, but none were successful.

Liverpool, coached by Jürgen Klopp, has scored 7 goals in their last 6 matches. So far, 10 goals have been tallied against them in those matches.

Liverpool enters the contest having won their last four home league matches.

Wolverhampton Wanderers LLWWLD

Wolves and Fulham played to a 1-1 draw in their previous Premier League encounter.

Wolverhampton Wanderers had 50% of the ball and 8 shots (2 on goal) in that encounter.  Fulham took ten shots, with five of them finding the back of the net.

The numbers don’t lie: in the Wolves’ last six games, their opponents scored seven goals, winning only once. Wolverhampton Wanderers have struggled defensively recently.

Liverpool vs Wolves Predicted XI

Liverpool Predicted XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Bajcetic, Fabinho, Henderson; Salah, Firmino, Jota.

Wolves Predicted XI: Sa; Semedo, Dawson, Kilman, Bueno; Neves, Lemina, Nunes; Traore, Jimenez, Sarabia.

Prediction

We think Liverpool will have enough chances to score against Wolverhampton Wanderers, who will have a hard time putting the ball in the back of the net.

We predict a Liverpool victory by a score of 2-0.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona  | Copa del Rey (02/03/2023 21:00)

Real Madrid hosts Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu for the first leg of the Copa del Rey. In the quarterfinals, Barcelona beat Real Sociedad 1-0, while Real beat Atletico Madrid 3-1. Xavi leads the Liga with 59 points, a 7-point advantage over Ancelotti, despite the unexpected defeat in the last round against Almeria, a stop after 13 consecutive useful results, maybe caused by the elimination in the Europa League in the playoffs against Manchester United. Barcelona is out of Europe and returning from two consecutive defeats in the last two games played.

Real Madrid instead drew 1-1 on the last day of the derby against Atletico Madrid, which closed the guest controversy for some unsettled episodes. In the round of 16 of the Champions League, Spain beat Liverpool by a score of 5-2, ensuring that they would move on to the next round. And there is no good news from the infirmary for Xavi, who in Copa del Rey will have to give up the Lewandowski bomber for a muscle problem, also out of the cause of Pedri and Dembélé, while he will try to recover Ansu Fati, who is returning from a knee discomfort. There will be Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and Gavi, while Ancelotti will have to assess Rodrygo’s condition, which is not ideal, and in the meantime the 2004 Alvaro Gonzalez class is the star of the moment, with the goal in the derby against Atletico Madrid.

Barcelona WWDWLL

Barcelona and their supporters will be hoping for a win after losing to UD Almera in La Liga play.

Catalunya had 72% of the ball and took 13 attempts, only 1 of which were on target.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona   Predicted XI

Real Madrid Predicted XI: Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, Rudiger, Nacho; Kroos, Tchouameni, Modric; Valverde, Benzema, Vinicius Jr.

Barcelona Predicted XI: Ter Stegen; Kounde, Araujo, Christensen, Balde; De Jong, Busquets, Roberto; Raphinha, Torres, Gavi.

Prediction

We suspect that Barca and Real Madrid will cancel each other out.

It looks like a tie is possible. Because of this, we predict a close game that ends in a 1-1 tie after 90 minutes.
