Cádiz vs Barcelona | La Liga (10.09.2022, 13:30)

Candidates for the title, Barcelona travels to Cadiz, a team that is currently suffering in La Liga. They will be looking to make it four straight victories when they play there on Saturday evening.

The away team comes into this match on the strength of a 5-1 victory in the Champions League against Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday, while the home team, Cadiz, is coming off of a 3-0 loss to Celta Vigo in their most recent league play.

They finished 12th in the top tier in 2020-21 before securing 17th place in the previous season, which secured another season at this level for Cadiz. Cadiz’s return to La Liga was ensured after they finished in second place in the Segunda Division in the 2019-20 season.

But at the end of the previous season, the Yellow Submarine were only one point ahead of 18th-placed Granada, and early signs suggest that the club may have a hard time staying in the top division for the 2023-2024 season.

Due to the strength of Real Madrid, Barcelona will be aware that their space to make mistakes in La Liga is limited.

Form Guide

Cádiz DWLLLL

Celta Vigo beat Cádiz 3-0 in their last La Liga game, so they will want to avoid a similar result today.

During that match, Cadiz held 42% of the possession and attempted 7 attempts on goal, but none of them were successful. Celta Vigo had 9 shots on goal, and they were only able to hit the target 5 times. Iago Aspas scored twice (at the 56′ and 75′ marks) and Oscar scored once (at the 62′ mark) for Celta Vigo.

In recent decades, Cádiz has been badly underperforming its potential. During their past six matches, they have only managed to score two goals against various opponents. This brings their “goals for” total down to only two. During those contests, Cádiz has been on the receiving end of a total of 11 goals that have been scored against them.

Barcelona LDWWWW

The previous encounter that Barcelona played in was for the Champions League, and they won 5-1 over Viktoria Plzeň. They will come into this match with that momentum.

In that game, Barcelona had possession for 76% of the time and had 20 shots on goal, with 11 of them finding their mark. Franck Kessié scored for Barcelona in the thirteenth minute, Robert Lewandowski scored in the thirty-fourth, forty-fifth, and sixty-seventh minutes, and Ferrán Torres scored in the seventieth minute. Eight of Viktoria Plze’s shots were sent toward the goal, but only one of them was successful.

The Barcelona defense has been on a roll of late, as seen by the fact that they have only conceded four goals in their last six matches combined. This impressive run of play has helped them achieve this remarkable feat. During the same time span, their own offensive unit was successful in scoring 16 goals.

Injured and suspended

Cádiz: (Jon Ander Garrido, Rubén Alcaraz).

Barcelona clean bill of health and no suspension concerns.

Cádiz vs Barcelona Predicted XI

Cádiz Predicted XI: Ledesma, Zaldua, Hernandez, Fali, Espino, Alarcon, Blanco, Fernandez, Alejo, Lozano, Ocampo.

Barcelona Predicted XI: ter Stegen, Kounde, Araujo, Garcia, Balde, Gavira, Busquets, de Jong, Raphinha, Lewandowski, Torres.

Prediction

Despite the fact that Cadiz’s recent record against them is impressive, it would be surprising for Blaugrana to lose points in this game, as the team has been clicking into gear ever since their draw with Rayo almost one month ago.

The Barcelona team has a good chance of getting a lot of chances to score and shots on goal.

On the other hand, Cádiz will have a hard time scoring, even though we expect them to be dangerous at different times during the game.

After ninety minutes of play, we anticipate that Barcelona will come out on top with a respectable 1-3 victory.

Real Madrid vs Mallorca | La Liga (11.09.2022, 14:00)

On Sunday at midday, the defending champions of La Liga, Real Madrid, will play host to Mallorca in the Spanish top division.

While the Santiago Bernabeu was undergoing more renovations throughout the month of August, Los Blancos did not play their first home match of the season until the previous Saturday. Madrid’s victory over Real Betis by a score of 2-1 was well deserved, as they suffered only one defeat on their own field in the league throughout the previous season.

In the meantime, Carlo Ancelotti’s squad will be coming into this encounter on the heels of a victory in the Champions League. On Tuesday night, Carlo Ancelotti’s squad defeated Celtic 3-0 in their opening group match.

With one victory, two draws, and one defeat so far this season, Mallorca is off to a respectable start. They barely avoided being demoted the previous year, and it’s possible that they’ll finish towards the bottom of the table once more.

Prediction

We believe that Mallorca are capable of scoring against this Real Madrid team; nevertheless, we predict that the number of goals they score against Real Madrid won’t be quite as high as the number of goals Mallorca will have scored against them.

River Plate Predicted XI: Centurión, Casco, Mammana, Díaz, Gómez, Zuculini, Quintero, Aliendro, Cruz, Solari, Beltrán.

Prediction

We believe that Boca Juniors will have trouble breaking through River Plate’s defense, and that River Plate will have just enough success to score in their own end and take the lead.

We’ve decided to go with a very close game, with River Plate coming out on top with a score of 0-1 when everything is said and done.
